He is a fantastic author and illustrator who has created a great deal of strange and unsettling books.
I have heard rumours before that he was asexual, but they were just
that—rumours.

He’s been dead for a number of years, but the fact that such an amazing
person was actually asexual makes me happy, and I wanted to share my
findings. 🙂

It’s hard to describe Edward Gorey’s work as entirely “sexless” after reading “The Curious Sofa” (which he published under the anagram Ogdred Weary), though!
I was thinking the same thing! I purchased the Curious Sofa recently. I’m thinking he wanted to keep his sexuality on the down-low, so I wouldn’t call him asexual? But I mean I didn’t know him personally lol
