it literally takes 30 seconds to go to fucking http://report.cybertip.org/submit and report ANY AND ALL child p*rnogr/aphy that you see online and you don’t have to drag anyone else into it.
you don’t have to expose anyone else to child pornography, you don’t have to signal boost offending urls to report-a-predator and lapis-hates-pedos, you don’t have to link people to blogs and websites containing the offending and illicit material, or whatever the hell it is you’re doing. it’s legal, it’s taken seriously, and they don’t fuck around with reports.
i hate that side of tumblr that sits there and exposes minors to predators under the guise of ‘taking them down and being safe’ as if they can’t get fucking hurt in the process.
if i’m not making myself clear enough and you still want to seem cool for your half-assed vigilantism by making a tumblr warning post as opposed to reporting it to the fucking FBI:
you can get in TONS of trouble for spreading it around. yes, you are fucking spreading it around if you sit there and give out the url to it.
if you have a blog that’s about discourse or whatever and you fucking link that stuff, you are giving predators easy one-click access to it, spreading images of children having their lives ruined and exposing minors to that. it does not matter if you are a minor yourself or what your intentions are.

It’s the same thing you’ll see on websites like DeviantArt and stuff like that. I’t just legal jargon for “hey your art goes through our servers, and through our servers other people can see your art, so we need your permission to transfer your art and let other people see it.”
It’s not a scam where they’re gonna take your art and make money off of it. They just literally don’t want to be sued by people claiming Discord is “reproducing” their art. The reproduction here is just them sending the image to whoever you’re talking to.
I promise you this is in the ToS of any art website, and even Tumblr’s ToS.
There’s Tumblr and DeviantArt’s ToS. Both say almost exactly the same thing that Discord is saying now. It’s just a normal procedure.
Please stop spreading this idea that when a website or service asks for permission to show your art on their site that it means they’re going to take your art and use it to make money.
A thread on Twitter this morning. Guys, don’t pirate comics. Please. Comics is a very small (mostly) creator run industry, so when you scan or torrent a comic, you’re directly hurting the creators. Even if you pirate comics from major publishers, you’re really only denying the creators of their income.
Artists/writers who work on comics make next to nothing. It’s commonplace in the comics industry for the people that make them to be constantly struggling to make ends meet. Just buy a book here and there. Support a Patreon. If you like the work, support it. We work very long hours to make the content you’re enjoying. We would like to not have to worry about how we’re going to buy food while we do it.
Okay, so…Trump won. And I’m never gonna not be worried about everybody, really.
But I need you all to know that threatening harm to the President of the United States is a class E felony under United States law and can get you investigated by the Secret Service, arrested, put on trial, and even put in jail. Even comments that you make online can carry this punishment. I know everyone’s angry, but please don’t do anything that could get you put in jail.
