OC spotlight: James Acolyte who the fuck is this guy? what’s his deal? well anyone who likes oc shit strap in i got a wild story about this fucker.
I first doodled this asshole in 1997 on lined paper. I wanted a detective character that was dealing with a murder case to find supernatural elements in some big city, pretty loose premise, nothing really came of it and i abandoned the character for a couple of years.
The full biography for Acolyte is that his parents loved the shit out of him, the era being stick and stone days where our ancestors lived in caves and shit, and the Old God of my comic ( shortened name ) is called Hito. She ( Not really of any specific gender tho I refer to her as she, reasons I’ll get on about on another post later lol ) basically grants “wishes” to her worshippers so long as they do as she asks.
I’m still crafting the fictional tome, but Hito has a book akin to a bible of what she expects of her followers and whatnot. The big laymans terms of it all is she wants her followers to kill other people in ritualistic sacrifice. Acolyte’s parents begged Hito to let Acolyte live through the oncoming flood that was going to basically wipe everyone out, think the flood from the bible but there’s no arc for anyone lol so everyone knows they’re gonna die and begging Hito for favors. anyways their wish was for Acolyte to have eternal life and swore FOR him that he’d obey. Hito says cool ok and everyone dies except the Hitotians and Acolyte.
Which means that for as long as it took for the water to dry up, that asshole didn’t know how to swim so he drowned over. And over. And over again. To modern day, James has an aversion to swimming, heavy rain, and large bodies of water.
James is Hito’s loyalist follower. Because of his loyalty and brutality of his murders, Hito gives him more privileges. Along with immortality, he can shape-shift to appear however he wants, that means he can appear older, different skin color, height, what have you. Because of this, you never know when you encounter him in various arcs of the comic. His favorite body and face is the one shown above, well, 2nd to his first form, but humans back in the caveman days, in my comic, look like 8 foot homunculous-types since i’m big into body horror lol.
anyways, James goes through life bringing slaughter, terror, rape, pillaging, every crime imaginable James has done it, multiple times, and happily so. There isn’t a thing he won’t do to make the world a more miserable place, one person or family at a time. he loves killing himself to shock and freak ppl out, also it gives him a massive hard-on.
James is not only sexually attracted to men, because of Hito’s no-children rule, he’s fucked up before which got him in huge trouble with Hito, so he’s grown to hate women to an extreme. It doesn’t mean he won’t fuck ‘em but he’s a huge misogynist. He’s also a huge slut and loves getting fucked to death since he can just come back to life. he prefers big dudes who’ll beat the shit out of him and call him a pussy.
Because he’s been alive forever, the only things that interests him is sex and food. Everything else is boring, basically. He helps Hito fulfill prophecies in her book ( for example, he has a son and daughter who help the plot, ofc they don’t know James is their dad which is good bcus they’d probably wanna kill him for how he mistreated and abandoned them lol he hates kids )
James is 100% loyal to Hito, though he worships the male equivilant to Hito named Nnu’fuuliivvaarri which is basically Hito just with a dick lol. Hito doesn’t care it all links back to her.
Now that u know this about him, maybe that’ll sheds some light on who he is. he’s obsessed with fucking, murder, just being a bad person. He gets off on hurting people in any way possible, be it a premeditated slowburn of fucking over someone’s life by entering it as a Kind Influence, or something quick like breaking into some family’s house and making the parents choose which kid they wanna watch die first. Or worse.
He has a ton of arcs, most of which u don’t know it’s him until it’s revealed later. His prominent one that introduces him is that he’s a detective trying to solve a case called the Hacksaw Murders where a mysterious person is going around killing loads of people with a hacksaw and leaving behind messages. James is a world renowned detective in this arc, since he crafts his own identities over time through various shape-shifting, plane tickets, ID cards, and so forth. Hito gives him connections through other believers lol. James can be whoever he wants, so long as he murders a bunch of people.
Hito wishes for her followers to be as depraved and horrible as they can with their murders. James has worn people’s skin, tortured loads of people and kids, just I can’t emphasize HOW BAD this guy is. One of his notable features is a skull-shaped shadow that captures his face ( it’s supposed to be foreshadowing in the detective arc ) and that he burns his face to keep from being IDed when murdering people ( which earns him one of many goddamn nicknames as the burned man )
hope y’all like this slutty asshole because i love him he’s so gross and terrible and burned out of people and their problems and just wants to fuck, eat sweets, and murder, but he’s gotta be Cool about it. He’s extremely intelligent because of how long he’s been alive. His face and body remains permanently unaged around 25-27 years old.
oh and idk if it matters but his gf is trans and is a fabulous model and i love her lol idk why she’s dating a creep like him all he ever wants to do is anal like yawn this again dude??? ok. sure. i’ll post pics of her at a later date. pls ask questions if u wanna know anything else about this jerk!!!!!
Alfred is my best friend’s cat who recently underwent PU surgery due to a kidney infection and urinal blockage. Thankfully, it was a successful surgery and Alfred is recovering well. The surgery which was needed to save his cat has cost my best friend $7,000, which has affected him greatly financially. My best friend has plans to get married early next year, but due to the surgery, he has doubts that the wedding will actually happen. He chose me to be a groomsmen and well, I want to see him marry his soulmate as planned. This is why I have launched this Gofundme to help him pay off Alfred’s surgery and help him go forward with his future marriage. I have faith that the internet will come through and help out. recently one of my posts about being a trans man and casually interacting with another trans man got about 90,000 notes and the tags and comments are full of ‘too pure for this earth’, ‘i’m a dirty sinner i don’t deserve to read this post’, ‘adorable cute sweet precious boys’ despite the fact that it’s mentioned that i am in college and not a child in the post and you all need to think about how some trans men do not want to be referred to that way and being okay with being referred to that way is pretty much exclusively a young teenager tumblr thing that makes a lot of guys uncomfortable. i’m just a man. none of this is necessary and it’s very performative, but…
along with this infantilizing, with this obsession with the proposed purity of another man and myself just for existing, there’s also dehumanization that comes with it, for example:
somewhere along the post, someone decided it would be a good idea to add, ‘all i can imagine is two eldritch horrors trying to get their voices as horrifying and fucked up as possible’ (not exact quote but that’s the gist of it)…
and someone decided that it would be a good idea to take my experience, wildly change the context and make a FANFIC, on MY OWN POST, of two eldritch MONSTERS upset because their voices didn’t sound ‘as horrific’ as the ‘monsters’ around them, and bonding over it together. nowhere in this fanfiction was being trans mentioned.
this is, quite possibly, the most horrifying thing someone has added to one of my posts and going beyond dehumanizing my experiences as a trans man enjoying my voice getting deeper, but also writing a fanfiction onto the post that changed the context of ‘two trans men finding validation between one another and our voices’ into ‘two monsters are sad they’re not scary enough and bond over trying to be scary together’. i shouldn’t have to explain how horrible that is for me to read, and how horrible it is to see that added on my own post & circulated through hundreds with no criticism.
quite frankly, it’s devastating to see how people talk about and interact with trans men. we are either children who must be protected and are weak and vulnerable and ‘too pure’, or we are fuel for your fanfics that completely strip us of our humanity. i consent to neither and if you think that any of these things are okay to do to a complete stranger, all you’re doing is patting yourself on the back for your performative ally points while making trans men uncomfortable with sharing their experiences and talking about their lives and trying to be happy with themselves. stop it.
A thread on Twitter this morning. Guys, don’t pirate comics. Please. Comics is a very small (mostly) creator run industry, so when you scan or torrent a comic, you’re directly hurting the creators. Even if you pirate comics from major publishers, you’re really only denying the creators of their income.
Artists/writers who work on comics make next to nothing. It’s commonplace in the comics industry for the people that make them to be constantly struggling to make ends meet. Just buy a book here and there. Support a Patreon. If you like the work, support it. We work very long hours to make the content you’re enjoying. We would like to not have to worry about how we’re going to buy food while we do it.
